Supporting Carbon Capture and Mental Health Through Forestry
About Us
Sheepdog Carbon is a team of Canadian Armed Forces veterans who have a passion for forestry stewardship and address the positive impacts of outdoor work on mental health through mission-based projects and initiatives
Sheepdog is committed to service and our current call is to help Canada achieve its goal of planting 2 Billion trees, and beyond
Why Sheepdog
There is an analogy between veterans and sheepdogs as protectors of their people, embodying both bravery and loyalty as guardians with a purpose. A sheepdog, like a veteran, may leave to fend off a threat and come back having experienced something the group will never truly understand.
Our Founders
Jeremy Blair and Patrick Prince lead our team and have coordinated the collection, planting and nurturing of over 450,000 seeds and seedlings on properties across Ontario. The two have provided Canadians with a combined 40 years of military service and have been deployed to locations such as: Kosovo, Alert (Nunavut) and multiple tours to Afghanistan.
Here they are pictured spending Canada Day with the Countries largest tree, Cheewhat Giant, a Western Red Cedar on Vancouver Island.
